Banaue Rice Terraces

The Banaue Rice Terraces are 2,000-year-old terraces that were carved into the mountains of Ifugao in the Philippines by ancestors of the indigenous people. It reminds me the Douro landscape with the  hand carved terraces full of vineyards!

The stamp with Pope Francis is very nice!

I don't have information on the author o this illustration but I like it a lot. It came from Belarus and the stamp has a mushroom called cantharellus cinereus.

Riga

After some months absent, I will try to update the blog with the postcards I received. This one shows the beautiful city of Riga, in Latvia. The historic centre of Riga is inscripted in the World Heritage List and it is generally recognized that Riga has the finest collection of art nouveau buildings in Europe. The card was sent by ecceden throught an RR host in postcrossing forum.

The stamp marks the Latvian Presidency of the EU Council in 2015:

This Statue of Liberty came from India, and despite the lack of connection between the sender and the card I enjoyed it because it is a great monument
